BRRRRR!!!!!

Free Clipart

It’s been colder than crap here. I’m not surprised because we had it almost too nice earlier, for this time of year, so I thought we’d be paying for it later. Twenty degrees at night is too cold for my blood. It was seventeen this morning. Ugh! I am counting the days until spring already. It doesn’t even warm up during the day, unless you can call 37 degrees warm. I am dreaming of that tropical isle again.

The birdbath is frozen solid every morning. I need to hang little ice-skates out there for the birds I guess. Can you imagine how cute that would be to see them skating with colorful scarves around their necks? No, I am not crazy. I have to think of something amusing to make this weather tolerable.

On another note, the cats hate it too, staying bundled under the throws on the couch, or covers on the bed, most of the day. I would love to join them, but I have too much to do. Last night they were hiding because of all the fireworks going off in the neighborhood. That kind of thing freaks them out. Of course, I never have the camera in my hand when a terrific kitty shot presents itself.

I hope you all have a blessed 2013.

  1. Oh such a cute pic! I love cats, but am allergic and so is my son. So we took a chance on a dog, a pure bred mini poodle and we don't sneeze! It's truly a blessing for us to even be able to have a dog. But I admit, I think my termperment is much better suited to cats. As I am independent and like my alone time, we might be better suited. Dogs are always at your heels!

  2. Sandra,

Thanks for reading and posting. I am definitely more suited to cats as well. I can never see myself walking a dog a couple of times a day (rain or shine, hot or cold). Dogs are too needy all the time and not independent enough. I like the independence of cats. I've always had them and always will. Even though I have asthma, I deal with it because I can't live without at least one cat. I LOVE them.

  3. Well, the kitties are napping for you, too. My self, I am nap substitute in chief in my house: I nap for my human who never has the time ;-)
Wishing you a great New Year too!

  4. Hi there Texas Cat,

You little guys are always sleeping, all snuggled up in the covers and warm blankets in the cold months. There are currently three furry babies that are doing that around here. You're right little one, we humans never have the time for a cozy nap.

Thanks for visiting me and putting your little paws on the keyboard to type this message.

  5. I think a nap on a cold winter's afternoon is pretty blissful, with the electric blanket on, and warm mohair rug over... try it Sunni -
it's supposed to be good for you!!!!

  6. Valerie,

That sounds lovely, but right now I am very tied up in getting my novel finished. I don't have time to think about something as luxurious as a nap. The cats do that for me I guess.

Yesterday I added about 6000 words to my book and am almost finsihed except for the re-reading and editing, etc. I must have sat here typing for about 14 hours, only taking 2 breaks to nibble on something. Then I only slept 4 hours last night, so I am good and pooped today.

This always happens to me until I get fnished because the project is always on my mind. Once I'm done I can actually breathe and be thankful this torture is done, until I start the editing part.
