I may chat about my books, what I'm writing or reading, or just general thoughts. You may read posts about my cats or just my crazy life in general. Comments are welcome, if anyone wants to interact with me. Maybe we can share war stories, whether it's writing related or just about life in general.

Remembering John Lennon

An open-minded, peaceful soul and great songwriter met his premature demise when Mark David Chapman shot him to death on the day on 1980. I hope this lunatic and deeply troubled human being rots in jail.

All John wanted is a peaceful world as we all do, but unfortunately, that is too much to hope for on this planet. The world is a place in turmoil. There have always been wars and always will be because we have never learned to settle things in a peaceful manner.

Here is his song "Imagine" if you care to listen.

  1. He did not deserve to die like he did with so much of his life and music ahead of him. A sad, sad day. Thank you for visiting Awakenings (http://www.awakenings2012.blogspot.com/2012/12/imagine-john-lennon.html#)and especially for leaving comments.

  2. Sharla,

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. This was indeed a sad day. He had such talent and whether you agreed with his philosophy or not, it is still sad to see someone gunned down like that.

I probably sounded harsh in regards to his killer, but the whole situation is senseless and makes me mad. I hope the guy is never paroled because we don't need people like that amongst us.

I'm glad you also posted about this sad day. I remember him every year.
