A Gentle Heart

Raven

I can’t keep from posting about my cats for very long.  They are my kids after all.

Raven

I woke up Saturday morning to find my little boy sleeping with his head on my shoulder and his arm around my neck.  Raven was purring so loud and it was so sweet, so despite the fact I really had to pee, I laid still a while and just listened to his contented motor running.  This cat has the gentlest heart.

Raven

My husband told me that when I leave the house to go run errands, Raven goes to the door and cries for me.  It about broke my heart to hear that but, of course, I can’t take him with me.  He loves to go places too, so that makes me feel guiltier.

I think someday soon, I’ll put him in the carrier and take him for a ride.

    1. Hi pilch,

I always make the rounds of whoever visits me and then do other blogs as I have the time each day.

Raven is one of the sweetest cats I've ever had. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment.

  2. I love cats. My earliest memory of a cat I have is of a barn cat that came by at supper time and my dad would give her a saucer of milk.

I was four years old and we lived in rural India. My dad would take a train to city to work and come home late in the evening.

One day he missed his train, and the cat sat in front of the saucer of milk my mom gave her till dad got home very late at night. She had her milk with dad.

  4. Raven is cute and definitely seems like he's your cat :) I think it is neat to talk about them; I used to talk about Koda (our corgi) a lot. Of course he was so spoiled we would give him car rides on the weekend :) He too cried when we left; I think they just wonder why they can't always be with us.

    1. Betty,

I think you're right. Pets grow attached and they don't realize that they can't go every place with you.

Raven was all over me as a wee baby at the PAWS shelter. I think he remembers I brought him home, so rescued him.

Thanks for reading. I enjoy animal stories, so in my book it's okay to share moments about them.

  5. He likes to go out? Perhaps you should take him with your for errands or such. I thought all cats hated the car.

    1. Liz,

This cat is unusual. He loves getting in the carrier to go somewhere. He doesn't even want to get out once we're back home. I've never had a cat quite like this one.

      Thanks for leaving comment.

  6. Awwww! That's just about the sweetest thing I've heard in a long while, and it goes to show that sometimes cats get a bad rap about being aloof and cold. I've known too many sweet and affectionate cats, like Raven, to believe that. Love him!

    1. Vashti,

Raven is the sweetest thing. He's such a people person. When anyone comes to visit he's all over them purring like mad. He's always in the middle of everything going on. He's very special.
