In this case, I’m talking about a chipmunk trilling his song
as he stood on a rock looking out over the backyard. I could picture an audience of his piers
waiting there to listen.

Singing chipmunk
It doesn’t take much for scenarios to cross my mind. I could picture this fellow dressed up in a tuxedo
holding a small microphone. Maybe it’s
time like these that lead my husband to say, “You live in a fantasy world and
need to come back to real life.” I hear
this all the time, so I didn’t mention my attendance at my private opera. I just smiled and have to admit that crazy
stories running through my mind bring a pleasantry to my mundane chores.
Sunni,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this, and thank God for your imagination. Reality is overrated. Imagination is where like fe is lived. Even the so called realists have imagination, albeit theirs is not quite developed yet.

Mister Weirdo,
DeleteThanks for dropping by. Yes, imagination is something I do have.

So cute! I would have loved to hear his "concert". I think having a great imagination is a good thing myself!

Betty,
DeleteThis little guy went on and on. He was standing there looking out at his audience of landscape rocks. I could picture him in a tuxedo. I guess my mind is always making up stories.
Thanks for reading.

Ah, if only you had gotten video. Then edited it by putting him in a little suit. Or maybe not. New viral video...
ReplyDeleteLiz,
DeleteI wish I would have thought of that.
Thanks for reading.

I didn't know squirrels could sing, Sunni! That's awesome. Maybe the little guy is serenading a little girlie squirrel. <3
ReplyDeleteVashti,
DeleteMaybe he is but if so, she was bashful and hiding. He kept up his serenade a long time.
Thanks for reading. You never know what you'll see here in the desert.

That is so cute..I so can see him in a tuxedo with a mic. I keep telling Hubby that our trees need to hurry up and grow so I can watch squirrels!!! Love this post!
ReplyDeleteLisa,
DeleteThank you so much. I'm glad I could give you a smile. Your trees will grow. Some grow faster than others. These little guys are all over the place living in the rock wall around the back lawn. We have full size squirrels too but I haven't seen them yet this year. They're more cautious than the little chipmunks.
