My Cat Kept Me Up All Night

Originally posted Feb 16, 2012

This little creature kept me up all night.  This is my baby Koki.  She scrambled around the bedroom all night and too occasional breaks by sleeping on my legs.  I finally just got up before dawn and then discovered she had been playing with a tiny wad of crumpled paper all night.  It doesn’t take much to keep them amused.

I looked all over for it later today when I was cleaning so the same thing doesn’t happen tonight.  Of course wouldn’t you know the little thing has carted it off somewhere.

She is an absolute little dear though and I don’t know what I’d do without her.

  1. Just like your cat ... my girls sometime keep me up all night. I guess as a parent - we would do whatever it takes :-)

And yes, sometimes this blogging or watching drama would keep me up all night :-)

  2. As I've said a hundred times on Twitter, I never pass up a cat person! I don't have cats because I don't want the responsibility of a pet, but I still like 'em!

    1. Lorinda,

Thank you so much for your comments and stopping by my blog. I have had cats my whole life and probably will have them to my dying day. I gravitate toward cat people too, but I can certainly understand why you don't want the responsibility of a pet. There are many times when my husband wants to travel but we can't because of the pets. Maybe when we are down to one, we'll just take it with us if we stay stateside. No one knows what the future holds.

I will definitely check out your site and find you on Twitter.

  3. Hi Journey of Life,

Thank you for reading and commenting. I guess cats can be a lot like children in that they can keep you up all night. and so can blogging. Sometimes the only way to keep up with that is late at night.

I don't have any kids, only cats, but I was the oldest of seven and cared for my brothers and sisters growing up. I felt like I raised my family by the time I was old enough to get married.

I will check out your site.

  4. What a beautiful cat! I'm sorry that she kept you up all night. Sometimes our pets are worse than kids lol!

    1. Spilled Milkshake,

She can be an angel and a little devil, but I love her dearly. She wakes me up all the time and brings me toys to bed, or just wants to cuddle with me.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I'll check out your site.

  5. Thanks for linking up! Cute post. ANd reminds me of toddlers; how a simple crumled piece of paper could keep them happy too instead of fancy cat toys:)

    1. Sandra,

Thanks for stopping by. This is my first blog hop so I wanted to try it and I'm glad I did it right.

I'm trying to check out all who are on the list and there are some interesting ones.

It does amaze me that cats can be entertained so easily. They don't really need cat toys, although they have some anyway. This ones favorite is a little fur mouse I got her for 99 cents. It doesn't even have catnip in it, but she loves those and always ends up biting the tails off.

  6. I found trying to knit was hopeless with a cat around! finally gave her her own ball of wool, but it didn't have the same 'pull"
LOve your blog, and wish you had a Like button I could keep clicking

  7. Thank you very much Valerie for the nice compliment. As far as I know only FB pages have Like buttons.

I'm very happy I'm posting something that is entertaining. It's always nice to give people a smile.

  8. She is an adorable cat! I only have dogs but was always raised with cats. I just have so many animals now--my husband would probably move out if I brought home another rescue animal!

  9. Hi MM,

Boy I can relate there for sure! I know my husband would. All of our cats are strays that found us, usually needing to be fixed up and rescued. Poor things. I was at the shelter once and was going to bring home another one and he said, "Don't you dare!"

This one is a lively and lovely cat and keeps me hopping around here.

Thanks for stopping by, reading and posting. I'll check out your site.

  12. Meg,

Thanks for reading and posting. Yes this cat is something else. She is always into mischief and has actually brought the dish drainer from the kitchen sink to bed three different times. It's a shock to wake up and find that in bed with you.

There's never a dull moment around here.

I love the name Quill for a cat. Great idea for a writer.
