Home again

Hubby picked up Tootie’s ashes on Monday when I was working.  It’s nice to have her home again.  I put her in the curio cabinet with the boys and Comet who are probably showing her around the afterlife where she’s settling in for a while.

The people who did the cremation presented us with a beautiful package.  I almost broke down crying when I saw it on the counter after work.  Somehow this struck me as perfect for a furry friend.

This is so pretty. Notice the animal print tissue paper.  Forever Friends did a terrific job.
That's Tootie's urn in front.

I promise my next post won’t be so morbid and about more cat news.  There’s something I want to rant about and I’m hoping many of you will see why.

  1. I'm sorry to hear about Tootie. :'( When my Rosie had to be put down a couple of years I ago, I too got a nice package, which included a certificate, a poem, and a few of her whiskers tied with a bow. I put the poem in a frame. <3

    1. Chrys,

Wow, that is so nice. I was so surprised at the gift wrapping for her urn. We saved a bit of her hair so we placed it in there after we got it. Today we got a sympathy card from the vet and his staff. I would have framed the poem too.

Thank you so much for reading and telling me about your experience.

  2. They always do such a loving job, those that take care of our pets' final remains. I'm glad Tootie is back where she belongs.

    1. Betty,

Thank you. They did a wonderful job. And today we got a sympathy card from the vet and his staff. I wasn't expecting that.

Thank you for reading and your comment.

  3. When you told me this Sis I had tears in my eyes. I wish we really had a lot more years with our pets. I have been through this so many times myself but keep getting another pet. My hubby tells me I have a lot of love to give. Thinking of you.

    1. Thea,

I keep getting new pets too because they have to have good homes and I'm sure they do when they come into my house. I wish we had them longer too but they always leave us with many happy memories that we'll carry with us forever.

Thanks for reading and your comment.

    1. Liz,

Yes I was very surprised at the quality of the urn they gave her and not expecting it to be in a gift bag. That was very touching.

Thank you so much for reading and leaving a comment for me.

  5. Don't worry, you are not morbid. You are grieving. Losing a beloved kitty is very difficult.

    1. pilch,

You're right. It's so difficult to say good bye to a family member like this. My youngest cat is really grieving for her because she was such a friend to him. It breaks my heart to see him so worried and lost. I'm trying to spend as much time with him as I can. I hope his appetite picks up again soon.

Thanks for reading and leaving a comment.

  6. So sorry for your loss. Death is not morbid. The package was so nice and thoughtful You can bet your bottom dollar Tootie is in Cat Heaven looking down upon you as he plays with the other cat angels.

    1. Hi there,

Yes I'm sure she's looking down on us and her cat friends she left behind here. I would like to think so anyway.

Thanks for reading and leaving me a nice message.

    1. Vashti,

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. She's very missed right now, but I'm sure is happy where she is. Losing a family member is always rough. Thank goodness we have lots of happy memories.
