The Women’s Expo

Women's Expo Sales Floor

They hold this event here twice a year.  I’ve never been to one in the eleven years we’ve lived here so this year I went with a girlfriend.  As the name implies, it’s all things for women: messages, nail polish, make-up, hair supplies, clothes, shoes, jewelry and handbags, plus a few other things.  They were even doing free mammogram screenings.

We wondered around all afternoon on Saturday trying on makeup, etc.  This was the last day of this event until fall.  They hold trade shows here on Friday and Saturday and never on Sundays.

I was impressed with the size of the expo because most shows here are very disappointing.  I may only think this way because I’m used to the shows held in California, which would run circles around the ones here.

We were making a last pass before leaving when a man shouted out from his booth, “Do you guys want one of these free?”  We walked a few feet and decided to go back and see what he was giving way.  It turned out he was an attorney for injury cases, but he had wireless blue tooth devices for cell phones on his table.  He had six left, said he was ready to leave, and was giving them away.  All he wanted in return was a like for his Facebook page.  We took one, thanked him and were on our way.

The next day I did live up to my word by liking his page.  I charged the device and I love it!  I had to go to the Verizon store to get it connected to my phone after an hour with no success on my  own, but it only took the guy there about two seconds.

 This clips to your ear.

This is something I really needed because, as of July 2014, it’s against the law to talk on your cell while driving.  I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.  This stuff never happens to me.

  1. That's nice that you got one this way for free. My son had one and then he forgot to take it out of his pocket, LOL, went through the wash, didn't work any more :)

Seems like it was a good expo!

    1. Betty,

That same thing happened with my husband's cell phone. I kept hearing a cluck, clunk but he said it was nothing and that he checked all the pockets. He hates it if I check up after him, so I left the wash alone. Well...the cell phone was there in the bottom of the washer when the load was through.

      Thanks for visiting.

  2. It's nice to get things for free. And Facebook likes can be hard, so it was probably worth it for him. Glad it was a good experience.

    1. Liz,

We had a fabulous afternoon. My friend was fooling around so long at the makeup counters, but maybe it's a good thing she did. We may not have gotten the wireless devices otherwise.

I also got a free mammogram so it was a good day.

      Thanks or reading.

    1. PL,

It was a fun day. I never get anything for free either, so that was a nice surprise.

      Thanks for reading.
