We have loads of lizards around here this year. They are everywhere and love this heat. It never seems to get too hot for them. Hanging out by the plants is usually how they
spend their days. I imagine there are
plenty of bugs to catch there.

You can hardly see them in the rocks in the second photo
There’s a lot of mating going on. Raven wanted outside the door the other day when he spied two lizards chasing each other around in a courtship ritual. I didn’t get a pic of that because I would have scared them off if I went out on the patio.
Here's one hanging out on the storage shed on the patio
Such is life in the desert.
It keeps the cats amused to watch all the creatures passing by, or
hanging out under the patio shade. I
guess 110 in the shade is better than being out in the sun. Besides what choice do these poor creatures
have? I feel sorry for them having to
put up with the extreme conditions of desert living.
Great pictures of the little guys!
ReplyDeleteCarol,

Looking forward to reading about your adventures in NY.

I bet they are used to it, though, and adapt the best way they can. Very nice pictures of them. I am fascinated with their pumping up when they do it. We have a few here that I have noticed.

Betty,
DeleteSometimes I think it's the invasion of the lizards around here. They are EVERYWHERE! It's very interesting to watch wildlife.

Those lizards look like little alligators! Ha, ha! We have all sorts of lizards here in S. FL too. I like them because they eat spiders, flies, mosquitos, roaches . . . all the pests I can't stand.
ReplyDeleteVashti,
DeleteThat's right! Lizards do a lot of good eating bugs we don't want around.
Thanks for reading.

Well, they are cold blooded, so the heat would perk them up. So much fun to watch, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteLiz,
DeleteTthey are something. The cats love to watch them and go crazy when they get on the windows. I spend a lot of time taking pics of them.
Thanks for reading
