Decorations were up even before Halloween.

That's an interesting take on dementia. I can't think of a thing mom would be retreating from. I'll have to think more about this angle.

SunniSunnihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12671891696662548892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106218623971866390.post-71780821602346268162016-11-13T20:00:03.631-07:002016-11-13T20:00:03.631-07:00People are doing the Christmas pretty early this y...People are doing the Christmas pretty early this year. I wonder why. I know they usually start early, but it seems earlier this year.

As for dementia, I heard a New Age teacher talk about maladies and how they are indicative of something else going on. Those with dementia are retreating from life for one reason or another. Just a thought.Liz A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16531953467834426316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106218623971866390.post-33213926069811071942016-11-13T19:34:00.289-07:002016-11-13T19:34:00.289-07:00Betty,

Unfortunately, I think today it's all about how much money retailers can make for the season. This is very sad.

We all tried to encourage my mom to get involved in crossword puzzles and other things to keep your mind sharp. I don't know if that helps or not, but I do it anyway, just in case. I really want to stay sharp until the end.

Thanks for reading and your comment.

SunniSunnihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12671891696662548892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106218623971866390.post-26734229362060644532016-11-13T10:16:56.900-07:002016-11-13T10:16:56.900-07:00They were clearing Halloween stuff right before Ha...They were clearing Halloween stuff right before Halloween and starting to bring in Christmas. I too am appalled by it. My mom did not have dementia, she had physical aches, but her mind was sharp pretty much to the day she died. My MIL had dementia and Parkinson's disease. One thing my mom did that my MIL didn't was my mom always played mind games, i.e., she did word searches, crossword puzzles, etc. I wonder if that was one of the things that kept her brain stimulated, but I'm no doctor.

So true about being thankful during this season; we do have a lot to be thankful for indeed!

bettybettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06323135450742337670noreply@blogger.com
