It could just as well have gone that way for Jodi and Abbie. I'm glad they are both well and doing fine. But I'm really against this sort of stuff. A mother and child should not be rushed along. Doctors take an oath and are here to help and they should live and breathe that oath. Holidays and weekends should never enter into the picture.

Thank for leaving your comment.

SunniSunnihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12671891696662548892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106218623971866390.post-18462623589225017362016-05-29T21:28:43.293-06:002016-05-29T21:28:43.293-06:00pilch,

They said she was fine and to go home. As far as I know her water hadn't even broke yet and everything looked okay. So they didn't admit her until the next day when they discovered another patient had false labor. It was on her DR advice that she go to the hospital to start with. I hear he had been wonderful throughout the pregnancy and they would do whatever he said to do.

My other sister tells me my niece and the baby were fine and there was no stress involved. My sister took off work to be there at the hospital that day. They kept giving my niece stuff to induce labor but nothing was working, so they finally got serious about it that evening.
A former nurse told the family it was a common practice to get all the deliveries done before a holiday or a weekend.

Thanks for your input, Betty.

SunniSunnihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12671891696662548892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106218623971866390.post-45339510931454307852016-05-29T21:13:17.628-06:002016-05-29T21:13:17.628-06:00JoAnne,

I think it is awful that they rushed a birth because of a holiday weekend.I would think that can put the baby and mom at risk and as you said, doctors know what they are in for when they are in medical school. I know in the case of my grandson, my daughter in law was so ready to have him, but the doctors did nothing to rush her along and she had him a day before her due date after her water broke. I know most doctors won't push matters along and wull let women go a week past their due date before they induce labor. I would neer to know her blood pressure, did they do any monitoring of the baby before delivery, was she showing stress, and what was the reason and method used to induce the early delivery. I am by no means a doctor or nurse, but have pickef up a lot of knowledge after typing medical reports for over 40 years.

Again, congrats to all.

Bettybettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06323135450742337670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106218623971866390.post-61088256242700178502016-05-29T07:54:33.043-06:002016-05-29T07:54:33.043-06:00Sunni, I totally agree with you! The youngest one was finally induced because the amnion was leaking fluid and my uterus wasn't doing anything (I was an "old" mother with that one - 39). In general, the closer we can stay to nature's time table, the better off we'll be. I especially object to Cesarean births unless it's to save the life of the mother. Everything goes out of whack.http://solowomenathomeandabroad.blogspot.com/https://www.blogger.com/profile/00116246897231606697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4106218623971866390.post-373062107683268422016-05-29T07:52:37.744-06:002016-05-29T07:52:37.744-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.http://solowomenathomeandabroad.blogspot.com/https://www.blogger.com/profile/00116246897231606697noreply@blogger.com
